Paul Hobbs Cross Barn Cab Sonoma Coast ‘21

This 94-point Cabernet from Paul Hobbs' second label showcases Sonoma's cooler coastal terroir. The 2020 vintage offers an elegant nose of blackcurrant, cedar and graphite, unfolding to reveal layers of dark cherry, espresso and a touch of mint. Aged 20 months in French oak (50% new), the wine displays polished tannins and a mineral-driven finish that lingers with notes of crushed rock. While approachable now with decanting, this has the structure to age gracefully for another decade. Perfect with herb-crusted lamb or wild mushroom risotto.
