La Posta Pizzella Malbec '23

This young Malbec from Mendoza glows with an inky purple hue and violet rim. The nose bursts with ripe blueberry, violet pastille, and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is surprisingly fresh for its concentration, with velvety tannins supporting flavors of blackberry, mocha, and a hint of cracked pepper. Fermented in concrete and aged briefly in neutral oak, it earned 91 points for its drinkability and typicity. The finish shows juicy acidity that begs for another sip. Pair with empanadas or grilled flank steak to highlight its vibrant fruit. The Pizzella family's high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo (3,600ft) contribute to the wine's balance and intensity.
