The 2022 Domaine Luneau-Papin ‘Le Verger’ Muscadet Sèvre & Maine is a refined and mineral-driven wine that exemplifies the estate's commitment to biodynamic farming and meticulous vineyard practices. The vines are carefully tended using natural preparations and sustainable techniques, with soil life stimulated by applications of horn dung and horn silica. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed in a pneumatic press, with spontaneous fermentation using natural yeasts. The wine is aged on its lees for seven months in underground glass-lined vats, resulting in a wine with excellent freshness, purity, and salinity. Tasting notes highlight the wine's firm structure, vibrant acidity, and distinctive mineral quality that reflects its shale-rich terroir. It has an elegant, crystalline profile with a subtle, sea-salty character, making it an ideal pairing for shellfish, fish dishes, Asian cuisine, or fresh cheeses. Critics have praised the 2020 vintage of ‘Le Verger’ for its purity, salinity, and mineral bitterness, with Le Monde des Vins calling it a “Muscadet dream” due to its racy personality and the distinct impression of tasting “a pebble beach.” Domaine Luneau-Papin, known for its attention to detail and biodynamic certification, produces wines with exceptional intensity and minerality, making this cuvée a standout Muscadet of incredible value.
