Clos Pissarra El Mont (Grenache) Priorat '12

From century-old Garnacha vines in llicorella soils, this is deep ruby with a brick rim. The nose offers stewed plum, licorice, and crushed violet, while the palate delivers sweet tannins and flavors of blackberry liqueur and graphite (Wine Advocate 95 pts). Peak now–2025 with slow-braised lamb.
