Andrew Will Ciel du Cheval Vineyard ‘20

This Red Mountain Bordeaux blend has blossomed magnificently since release, now showing why it earned 95 points from critics. The 2017 vintage offers an intoxicating nose of black cherry, violets, and graphite that leads to a full-bodied palate of dark plum, espresso, and tobacco flavors. Aged 22 months in French oak (60% new), the tannins have integrated beautifully while maintaining the structure for further aging. The finish lasts nearly a minute, revealing subtle floral and mineral nuances that speak to its Red Mountain terroir. At peak now but will hold for 5-7 more years, perfect with herb-crusted lamb or mushroom risotto.
