2016 St. Innocent Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir

The 2016 Freedom Hill is dark, almost opaque ruby red, while the 2017 Freedom Hill Pinot noir is lovely and bright with ruby red color. Both have typical dark cherry aromas but the 2016 vintage is especially broad and complex. The 2017 vintage has earth, peat, and white pepper notes on the nose. The palate of the 2016 vintage is lively with concentrated fruits, dark flowers, roasted squash, and hints of citrus peel, while the 2017 vintage has big ripe tannins, dense, dark fruits, loads of earthy spices, and juicy acidity. Despite all the power on the palate, both vintages have fresh, bright, and clean finishes. A beautiful pair of vintages for enjoying now or into the future.
