Makarounas Promara Amphora (Cyprus) '23

Makarounas Winery Promara is a rare white wine showcasing the indigenous Cypriot grape Promara, cultivated from ungrafted, single-vineyard vines in Letymbou, Paphos. Fermented spontaneously and aged for five months in amphorae, this wine reveals pure, terroir-driven character. It offers bright aromas of white-fleshed fruits, zesty citrus, and subtle herbaceous undertones, finishing crisp and dry with pronounced minerality. The full-bodied, vegan-friendly wine is grown organically on limestone-rich soils at 400–450m elevation. Its layered complexity and slight bitterness make it an excellent companion to shellfish, vegetable dishes, or hearty pastas.
