91 Points, Wine Advocate (2017 vintage) The Chalk Hill Estate Red is the best blend of red wines from our estate. It is incredibly rich and luscious with notes of blackberries, boysenberry syrup, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and cardamom. Although the wine shows surprisingly well in its youth, the generous, underlying tannins suggest a long and complex future. Our story started in 1972 with a vision to plant grapes along the diverse terrain of Sonoma Countys rolling hills. Chalk Hill Winery lies within a small AVA which bears the same name and has been producing highly acclaimed wines LED by its flagship Estate Chardonnay. Meticulous attention to detail, decades of clonal research, sustainable viticulture practices and a minimalist approach to winemaking all combine to produce wines of character, richness and elegance.
