2017 Roederer Estate L'Ermitage Brut

The 2015 L’Ermitage from Roederer Estate is a vibrant, young-seeming wine with suggestions of tart cherries and fresh lemons on the nose, framed by a nice bit of creamy yeast. It is composed of 52% Chardonnay and 48% Pinot Noir, showcasing a very firm backbone of bristling acidity. Even though it exhibits plenty of complexity right now, it strongly conveys the sense that further age will make this already very good wine even better. Founded in 1982 in Mendocino County's fog-shrouded Anderson Valley, Roederer Estate follows a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. The premium grape growing region's proximity to the Pacific Ocean allows grapes to mature slowly, developing full varietal character.
