The Jean-Noël Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Cuvée l'Estimée 2022 is a refined Pinot Noir that showcases the potential of red wines from Chassagne-Montrachet, a region typically known for its white wines. Sourced from six plots with southeast-facing slopes, this organic and biodynamically farmed wine presents aromas of wild strawberries and crunchy red fruits, alongside earthy undertones. On the palate, it is characterized by bright acidity, polished tannins, and excellent concentration, offering both structure and finesse. Vinified with 100% de-stemmed fruit, ambient yeast fermentation, and aging in barrels (25% new), the wine embodies the domaine's commitment to low-intervention winemaking, allowing the terroir to shine. Cuvée l'Estimée is a beautiful introduction to the Chassagne-Montrachet reds and provides great value for its price, often ready to drink at a younger age. Only about 700 cases are produced annually, making it a rare find that reflects the rich heritage of the region.
