Top 10 of 2024

(10) 2021 Stefano Amerighi Cortona Syrah $54

Cortona DOC, Tuscany, Italy | Varietal(s): 100% Syrah

The grace and sensitivity of soul of this pure Syrah is truly touching. It is pure magic in the glass and shows itself off in a regal manner with nuances of rose petals, passionflower, meadow flowers, hibiscus, jasmine, green tea leaves, eucalyptus, calendula and magnolia. The tannins are perfectly integrated into the matrix describing themselves with pure perfection in terms of maturity and extraction and a finale of infinite beauty.

(9) 2019 Von Buhl Riesling Brut Sekt  $45

Pfalz, Germany | Varietal(s): 100% Riesling

A finely detailed sekt, with prominent bubbles energetically dancing on the palate. They help bring out a complex, layered range of nectarine, white raspberry, candied ginger, brioche, lightly roasted nuts and hints of sea salt. Chalky grip and saline accents mark the long, inviting finish.

93pts. Wine Enthusiast

(8) 2023 Domaine Huet "Le Mont" Vouvray Sec $48

Le Mont, Vouvray, Touraine, Loire valley, France | Varietal(s): 100% Chenin Blanc

One of the great dry white wines of the Loire. This dry chenin blanc is rich and concentrated, but also graceful and delicate. Full-bodied but so elegant and precise, with a wet stone minerality that builds in a spectacular manner in the very long, refined finish. From biodynamically grown grapes.

96pts. James Suckling & Jeb Dunnuck

(7) 2023 Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay $44

Kumeū, Auckland, New Zealand | Varietal(s): 100% Chardonnay

This is fresh, crunchy and clean, with mineral and spice notes and plenty of salty undertones. Sliced lemons and apples. Medium-bodied with a fresh finish.

93pts. James Suckling

(6) 2022 Vins Pepe Raventós Xarel.lo Vinya del Noguer $32

Penedès, Catalonia, Spain | Varietal(s): 100% Xarel.lo

Fermented in amphorae, foudre and barrel. Cloudy golden color and an expressive nose with notes of peach, lime blossom, ginger, savory broth, aromatic herbs, and tilled earth. The palate is velvety and tasty, with pungent flavors and a long, lingering finish.

Rare Find | Only 4,784 bottle produced

94pts. Robert Parker

(5) 2019 Reyneke "Capstone" Red Blend $38

Polkadraai Hills, Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South Africa | Varietal(s): 75% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon

Classical Bordeaux style combines freshness with absolute concentration, showcasing the best of Stellenbosch. Intense notes of cassis, blackberries, cherries, and thyme intermingle on the nose, along with hints of spice. The wine shows great complexity, with pure red and dark fruit on the palate followed by tobacco and spice. Elegant tannins, concentration, and bright acidity.

(4) 2021 Pieropan “La Rocca” Soave Classico $47

Soave Classico DOC, Veneto, Italy | Varietal(s): 100% Garganega

Exotic fruit, yellow peach, dry apricot, nuts, almond, and sweet spices such as saffron, cinnamon, ginger powder, white pepper, honey and a light balsamic note.  Elegant, smooth and persistent on the palate.

Sommelier Selection | 95pts. Robert Parker & James Suckling

(3) 2022 Comando G "La Bruja de Rozas" $44

Sierra de Gredos, Vinos de Madrid, Spain | Varietal(s): 100% Garnacha (Grenache)

Flinty and with a note of struck. Aromatic, floral, and ethereal. The nose is never short of spectacular, to me the signature here is the super fine grainy tannins from the decomposed granite soils. Fresh, round, and herbal finish.

95pts. Robert Parker | Sommelier Selection

(2) 2017 Robert Sinskey Vineyards "Vandal Vineyard" Cabernet Franc  $78

Vandal Vineyard, Los Carneros, Napa Valley, California, United States | Varietal(s): 100% Cabernet Franc

Violet, blackberry, bay laurel and star anise dance above the rim of the glass, flashing the complexity achieved from the cooler climate. Quintessential ripeness rings true at first sip, with lush black cherry, blackberry bramble and currant running alongside salted plum, Kalamata olive, cacao and a touch of black pepper.

Sommelier Selection | Organically Farmed

(1) 2023 Clos Constantin "Chants Du Jardin" Blanc $34

IGP Hérault, France | Varietal(s): Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino

An under the radar gem from an up-and-coming producer in the south of France. This wine is incredibly complex with ripe orchard fruits, yellow flowers, and a saline minerality. The wine is rich yet lively and light with fresh acidity and hint of bitterness. Fantastic.
