Expand Your Repertoire of Whites

At Finch Fine Wines, we think that an exciting New Year, and a Brand New Decade call for an expansion of your regular repertoire of white wines!

Personally, I love white wines with “dance”...with zip….with great balance….nervosity, if you will. What’s exciting to me are wines that express themselves by showing a purity of fruit coupled with great minerality and a refreshing finish. Often these are wines made from not-so-familiar grape varieties. Please stop by to pick up a few of these delicious selections:

2018 Chateau Soucherie “Les Rangs de Long” Anjou Blanc; Loire, France $21.99 Made from 100% dry Chenin Blanc, this is layered and complex, with a roundness and length that delights the palate !

2018 Cieck Erbaluce di Caluso; Piedmont, Italy $16.99 This has bright, crisp acidity, paired with an aromatic richness and great personality. The erbaluce grape is indigenous to the Northwest corner of Italy, and has the versatility to pair with many dishes.

2016 Caespes Colli Tortonesi Timorasso; Piedmont, Italy $22.99 Also indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy, the timorasso grape has beautiful acidity and rich extract from aging on the lees and not spending time in oak. Dry with great minerality.

2017 Louis Metaireau Muscadet de Sevre et Maine; Loire, France $20.99 This brisk, super-dry white, made from the melon grape, is made in the region of France where the Loire river meets the Atlantic. Its acidity, is designed to cut through the richness of its classic companion, the oyster.

2017 Maison Les Alexandrins Viognier; Tain l’Hermitage, France $15.99 Finesse, liveliness and elegance describe this beautiful Viognier, which is best enjoyed in its youth, with food or as an aperitif.

2017 JL Chave “Circa” Saint Joseph; Rhone, France $27.99 The granite soil where the roussanne vines of this wine grow gives it a wonderful minerality which perfectly accompanies food and gives an additional sense of vivacity.

2018 Donnhoff Niederhauser Klamm Riesling Kabinett; Nahe, Germany $26.99 This has a peachy, almost delicate, meyer lemon with back-palate stoniness. A highly elegant Kabinett Riesling it has a sophisticated, high acid fruit personality.
